How Our Network Works for Homeowners
Who you talk to
Some people assume a referral service sends a big company to the door. In practice, though, you speak with an independent local provider. That business runs its own crews, sets its own prices and does the work. Rickmuzik Concrete only makes the introduction.
What happens on the call
The first talk is simple. Expect a few plain questions:
- What do you want built: a driveway, a stamped surface or a patio?
- About how big is the space?
- Is there an old slab to remove?
- Where is the property?
The provider then explains the next step. That may be a site visit or a written estimate. Timing varies, but many providers can respond quickly.
What to ask a contractor
Ask before pouring. A few good questions:
- How deep will the base be, and what is it made of?
- How will water drain away from the house?
- Will the concrete have reinforcement, such as rebar or mesh?
- How will it handle freeze-thaw cycles and road salt?
- What sealer do you use, and when should it be applied?
- Can I see the written quote with the full scope?
If your slab sits near a stone or block foundation, ask how the provider handles grading. If you suspect a foundation problem, ask whether a separate foundation repair expert should look first.
You are in control
Talking to a provider does not lock you in. Compare quotes. Ask for details. Say no if it does not feel right. Costs vary by job, so get a written quote before you agree to anything.
